As its name says, Vagabond is all about wandering and being free. It’s about human connection and nature.
This is another student project that I did when I was studying web design. Vagabond is a new microbrewery in Quebec and the brief was to create the art direction for a responsive website To leverage its brand essence, the art direction needed to artistic and crafty, with a hippie twist. So, this is how I came up with the idea of having an “instax” treatment for the photography. And also, I wanted the imagery to be all about people gatherings and having a good time together, in simple outdoors / on-the-road set-ups. The handrawn typeface from the brand identity gave me the idea to extend the concept and to create “tribal” iconography.
And finally, the idea would be to have the iconographic elements and the pictures moving (a bit like a parallax) as you navigate through the website so the layout is completely “free” 🙂
